Joella- Long Gone Single Review

If you are familiar with Joella, you know sis likes to tell you what it is in the opening line of a song. So, when her latest single; “Long Gone” began with; “I’d rather have nothing than just a piece of you”; I locked in because I knew where we were heading, and I was here for it.

Long Gone tells the story of a one-sided relationship, and gives us an exact measure of her breaking point. While Joella delivers the message of being over this relationship; both men and women can relate to a partner that doesn’t reciprocate, or as the kids say “match your energy”. If ever you find yourself asking a mate; “Have I ever even met you?”, and you immediately respond with; “No, not in reality”; it might just be time for you to be Long Gone.

Have I ever even met you? No, not in reality. You’re too fucking out of touch with your emotions, so unspoken”.

I’m trying not to give away all the lyrics of the song, but when they’re so truthful and poignant, it’s hard to hold back. In the song’s chorus we get; “You can’t use memories as our therapy”, and in verse 2, perhaps my favorite line; “You take complaints as hatred, and not attempts at making it, right”.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Joella isn’t a popcorn artist that churns out “music” to keep up with the fast pace of the industry. She takes her time to carefully craft stories, while delivering ACTUAL vocal ability. Check her resume and understand that she has trained for this. If you enjoy great production and amazing singers, I introduce you to, Joella.
